SHS-Check

IF NOT NOW, WHEN?

When the conversation of a 40-year reunion came up, we jokingly started referring to it as “The Farewell Tour.” But let’s face it, guys, we are not getting any younger. Unfortunately, most of us only see each other at funerals. This is an opportunity to get together and celebrate. I knew we were in great shape by the number of people who are eager to help. The momentum is real.

The first thing we wanted to do is announce the date early enough so people can plan ahead. We also wanted to do it as close to when we graduated as possible. While we thought of having it at Thanksgiving, the reality is that most of our parents and family are not in the area anymore. We chose our location for convenience from closest airports and highways and a great event package. Couple that with a great room package for visiting classmates, it provides the best, safest and convenient location possible.

And all of us who have been working on this behind-the-scenes can guarantee is this: IT WILL BE A REUNION TO END ALL REUNIONS. For a lot of us, it may be the last time we see each other at such an occasion. Let’s go out with a grand finale. And you never know – maybe we can do another farewell tour five years from now. But, for now, let’s do it while we can! IF NOT NOW, WHEN??

How did we come up with the price?

It’s $100 + tax (to cover the service, fees and cost)
It’s 2026 – our reunion in 2006 was $50.00
This reunion is an EVENT – it justifies people coming in from out of town.
The savings on rooms and UBER/LYFT rides offset the extra money
The location is convenient for both people from out of town and local
The cocktail stations, cake and drink package is great
It was the most cost-effective venue we could get
It’s a 3-day weekend for some people
